Prepare your conscious because this world that Ms Lima has created has a haunting shadow of our own everyday world.

It has been four years! Fours years since Bensin won his sister’s freedom from slavery. Yet in that whole time, Bensin, himself, has not been able to accomplish for himself what he did for his sister. There is hope on the horizon. He eyes a second victory in The Grand Imperial Cavvara Shil Tourney. He has his challengers, but he’s determined to win and get free from the collar around his neck. Things take a dark turn a few weeks before the final championship tournament. Bensin is convicted of a crime he hasn’t committed. The judicial system treats slaves a whole lot different than free folks and Bensin soon learns the horror of it all. He’s forced to fight for his life which could quickly end with a sift razor edged blade of hard steel.

The Gladiator and the Guard will keep readers at the edge of their seats. This is a well paced book and picks up steam with each turn of the page.
